Weekly Report #2 - 12.20.2008

This is my second report and just plugging along. This is Christmas week so basically I'm not expecting anything big. I'll be going semi-leave this week starting Tuesday since my wife and I are flying to Arizona at 0630 Tuesday morning. Anyways, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and if you aren't Christian whichever holiday you celebrate this time of year I hope you have a wonderful one.

1. Competitions
There are two competitions going on right now (Prelude To Glory and What the Future Holds). Take part in them as best you can during the holidays (see Operations and Competitions section).

2. The Dark Legionnaire
Since my wife is going to probably be running all over her hometown during our five day vacation to Arizona I'll probably be in my in-laws basement coding the Dark Legionnaire - Official Newsletter of the Hammer's Fist Stormtrooper Legion. I hope to have it released on New Years Day and have it coming out monthly. Still looking out for more submissions so please send those to hfnl.dl@gmail.com (see Projects section).

3. The Trooper's Post
This is something that I pitched to the Prefect of the Legion, LG Keth D'Jek, originally called (The Dark Journal) but I don't think that is a good enough so I've changed that to The Troopers Post. It will be weekly in your inbox around the same time I release my report. It will come out after New Years. :D

4. New Hammer's Fist Website
Commander of Internet Affairs, Major General Zsinj, is working hard on the new website. Hopefully more on that soon.

5. As Reported At The Emperor's Hammer Weekly Meeting
I got to actually lead off the EH Weekly Meeting and here is that report:

From the Desk of the Hammer's Fist Executive Officer, Brigadier General Rico Stone
1. The Hammer's Fist apologizes for not attending last week's meeting. The Prefect was sleeping or something like

that, the Hammer's Fist Executive Officer worked 3.5 hours overtime at his graveyard (11.5 hours total) and the rest of the General Staff. Anyways...

2. It has been a busy time for the Hammer's Fist. Recent appointments to the General Staff (GS) have been made:

Baron has been promoted to Brigadier General (BG) and appointed Commander of Operations (CO). Staff Sergeant Rico Stone, "Outsider (OS)"

has been promoted to Brigadier General (BG) and appointed Executive Officer of the Hammer's Fist (HFXO).

3. Commander of Internet Affairs (CI), Major General Zsinj, is working on a new Hammer's Fist website. A few

General Staff have been given a sneak peek and looking good so far. More details later.

4. Fireteams have been disbanded and now the most basic unit of the Legion is now a Squad that will have twelve

(12) members like the Dark Brother's Battleteam or TIE Corps' Squadron. Order of units is now: Squad -> Platoon -> Company -> Battalion

-> General Staff (Staff Officers). Reason behind this is the basics of "too many chiefs, not enough indians." Enough said.

5. Between the Prefect and HF Executive Officer new Merit, Competition, and Service Awards have been designed and

approved upon. All except the Competition Awards have been added to the Hammer's Fist database and ready to be handed out!

6. Two (2) pre-2009 competitions are going: one (1) by the HF Executive Officer and one (1) by the Commander of

Operations. The one from the HFXO is "Prelude To Glory" (http://eh.stryfe.net/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=630) and the one from the CO is "What

the Future Holds" (http://eh.stryfe.net/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=637). But will end sometime around New Years.

7. BG Baron, Commander of Operations (CO), is on leave until sometime between Christmas and New Years. All entries

for his competition still go to his e-mail but all CO matters are to go to the HFXO until he returns.

8. Membership now stands at: Active Members - 37, Active + Training Platoon Orion - 77, Full with Homeguard - 280.

6. Hammer's Fist Weekly Meeting Coming!
In talking with the Executive Officer of the Emperor's Hammer we talked about getting the Hammer's Fist Weekly Meeting going again. I am all for that and having our own trivia. This will be discussed with the Prefect of the Legion at a later date.

7. First Squad Leader, Vengeance Platoon Open For Applications
The with recent resignation of the Squad Leader for First Squad, Vengeance Platoon that position is now open. Interested? E-mail an application to Vengeance Platoon Commander and the Executive Officer (pilot4182@googlemail.com and rogue_outsider@yahoo.com).

The Dark Legionnaire - Official Newsletter of the Hammer's Fist Stormtrooper Legion
Status: Ongoing
Details: With my recent appointment as [Executive Officer of the Hammer's Fist] I have been charged with the task of resurrecting The Dark Legionnaire, Official Newsletter of the Hammer's Fist. At current there is not one newsletter active in the Emperor's Hammer so we shall continue to lead the way. I'm looking for fiction, graphics, articles, or anything along that sort (see more here at http://hf.atcontroller.com/HFFM/submit.php). The medals awarded are as such:

* Medal of Darkness - 1 Submission (MoD)
* Bronze Cross - 5 Submissions (MoD-BC)
* Silver Cross - 10 Submissions (MoD-SC)
* Gold Cross - 15 Submissions (MoD-GC)
* Platinum Cross - 20 Submissions (MoD-PC)
* Dark Cross - 25 Submissions (MoD-DC)
* For every additional 8 Submissions after 25 you will receive a Legion of Service (LoS)

CURRENTLY RUNNING

A new General Staff has come to power within the Hammer's Fist Stormtrooper Legion, appointed under the hands of Fleet Commander Grand Admiral Cyric and Executive Officer Sector Admiral Maverick. The corridors of the Legion bases are coming alive, the ships to carry its Troopers across the galaxy are powering up, and a buzz that the once feared Hammer's Fist is alive and well is spreading. But a new enemy is coming alive, arising from the dust as if reborn, threatening the very existence of the Legion. Small hit and run missions have happened on on Carrida II bases and outposts, leaving a Black Fist seal cut into the flesh of the dead each time.

To combat this new threat Legion Executive Officer Brigader General Rico Stone, acting commander of the Legion while Prefect of the Legion, Lieutenant General Keth D'Jek, is at Aurora Prime in meetings with the Emperor's Hammer Command Staff, has dispatched both Vengeance and Redemption Platoons to nearby cities (Vengeance to Vor and Redemption to Er) to search out for answers and possible insurgent strongholds. Their orders are: to gather intelligence and capture or eliminate any Black Fist terrorists.

You're job will be to write out a mission and send it to me. Top three to be awarded medals. The winner though will have his/her mission used as the basis for the next Operation. I know you all have an idea of what you should be doing as a member of the HF. Here's your chance to set the stage for the Operation for you and your fellow comrades in the Fist.
