MGN Astin reporting in for the Hammers Fist on April 9th, 2010.

Ive been spending the last couple weeks getting settled back in and getting back up to speed with Special Operations Command. From what I can tell right now, the state of the Hammers Fist is not good. Of the few members that were around when I first took office as PRF back in September, only a fraction still remains. We are losing members much, much faster than we are gaining, and after seeing almost no interest from retirees and other EH members in returning/joining to be in leadership roles, it is very obvious that something needs to be done and it needs to be done now.

We arent going to get any new members by advertising roleplaying. It is obvious that we need to focus on multiplayer gaming if we want to survive the year. With that along with the knowledge that the Battlefront series does not have much of a recruitable playerbase left in mind, Im going to be moving the Hammers Fist into a relatively new territory. There are somewhat new games out right now that have very good and popular Star Wars mods. They are Call of Duty 4 (Galactic Warfare mod) and Battlefield 2142 (First Strike mod). I personally own Call of Duty 4, so I will be spearheading an effort to get some members in the Hammers Fist that play this game. Horus, the EHRO/COO, will be spearheading the BF2142:FS effort. So, if you are a CoD4 player and would like to try out this mod and represent the EH with me online, drop me a line. Alternatively if you have BF2142, get in touch with Horus.

Considering all of this, I have begun work on revamping competition/activity medals to better suit FPS MP activities. I also have begun working on a set of rules and regulations regarding starting, playing, and reporting official MP matches (the EH standard doesnt exactly work as flight sim MP is much different than MP multiplayer). Hopefully by the time we start actually getting new recruits that are here to play MP, we will be 100% ready for them.

- COL Lyncoln Novell has not been seen or heard from for some time now, so I have moved him to the Homeguard. BGN Rebelkiller has been selected to replace him as CT. Welcome back!

- I have taken the Imperial Officer course in the CSMA offline for now pending some major renovations. The course will be redone to focus heavily on leadership skills, similar to the IWATS Squadron and Wing Management courses.

- The majority of the work on Operation: Mongoose has been finished. Activities have been straightened out and I expect the Operation to begin very soon. Keep your eyes on the HF message boards! (eh.stryfe.net)
