Welcome to my 3rd report as the Vice-Prefect. As promised, this time there will be more about the blog I have been talking about since my appointment. There are also some other things, I would like to mention in the report, so let’s get down to the bussiness.

Introduction of new Member

Firstly, I would like to welcome PFC Tuba, our newest Stormtrooper. Congrats on acing the Stormtrooper Certification! I hope you will enjoy your stay in the Legion!

Operation Mongoose

Phase I of the Operation should have finished yesterday, but willing to make the plot join smoothly Phase I and Phase II, I extend it by the end of the weekend. I am waiting for your entries in all categories ( no other submissions than Run-On received, easy points to earn ).

Just to remind you the activities:
- Run-On: Swoop – we have found out the place and the time of weapon delivery for the Black Spear. We are to intercept it and to capture as many members of the organisation as possible. The three winning places will be determined on the basis of quality and quantity of the posts, they made.
- Fiction writing: On track – write a piece of fiction about capturing a member of the Black Spear. Describe the details of your plan and how have you realised it.
- MP matches – play matches in Battlefront II, Call of Duty 4 (Galactic Warfare mod) and BF 2142 (First Strike mod). 2 points for victory, 1 point for lose.

Blog

Yes, it is the time to speak more about our official blog. Why to make a blog? What benefits can we get from having one? How it is going to work? If these questions have appeared in your mind, here you are going to receive answers.

Why?

Nowadays, use of the Internet is almost necessary to achieve success as an organisation. It is especially visible in our situation, as we are an online gaming club. Without the Internet we would have never join Hammer’s Fist. However, typical tools ( website and forums ) are, to be honest, limited. Website provides one way communication only. Message Boards allow discussion with members of the club, but are restricted mainly to people, who are already members of the club or desire to join it anyway ( require registration ).

What may the benefits be?

Blog allowes people to post comments on our club and we can almost immediately reply to them. Also, people who are not members of the Legion, but know it a bit better than others may help us and explain something on our behalf.
Another important thing is that we can make comments on important events related to the Star Wars. New book released? Gossips about new film? Convent of fans? Why not describe all these events on the blog. It may attract people, who will in the future turn into members of the Legion.
Blog is also something we may use to attract press attention. It is possible that someone will use our blog as an example of quality and content. This may provide us the publicity we need to attract more people.

How it is going to work?

Though the idea comes from the SOC, we wish all of the Legion members and each of the Legion members to take part in this project. It is extremely important that as many of us as possible gets involved in creation of the blog, so we have enough content to put on the blog.

The general idea is to post something one or two times per week. Such frequency is needed to keep people interested with the blog, but not overwhelmed with the information. It can, of course, be slightly different, but it is established as the best frequency.

What can be posted on the blog? The content may be really varied. Pieces of fiction, short films, SW-related news, HF-related news, contests for non-EHrs. All ( or almost all ) prepared by the HF members.

As this is an official project, supporting it will be rewarded with proper medal. We are currently considering several options, so it is yet to be decided.

I think that I have mentioned the most important things. If you have any questions about the blog, please contact me and I will try to answer them.
