Troopers, this is your Prefect:

Welcome to the first report of 2016.  Last year saw the rebirth of the Hammer’s First, and I hope this one will see us rise to become the preeminent unit in the EH.  

We gave out 1769 WSMs for 2016, not counting several dozen more that were submitted over the New Year’s holiday that are sitting patiently in the queue.  Len and the fiction committee created a framework for member writing than a few of you have already taken advantage of.  We’re seen hundreds if not thousands of messages pass through Telegram, not only in the main HF channel but also in a squad channel for the Eopies.  That’s a pretty solid level of activity, especially from our BF players on PS4.  

However, the year was not without its setbacks.  We had several of our initial petition-signers go the entire year without submitting measurable activity.  After a December AWOL check, several of those members have been moved to the Homeguard.  Two of our Squad Leaders were forced to step down due to issues at work and at home.  The informal structure that served  the leadership so well in our earliest days led us to collectively drop the ball during the holiday season.

So the new year is a chance to catch our breath and hit the ground running, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.  I’ve updated the HFFM to include very clear expectations from all of the SOC members(http://www.hf.emperorshammer.org/HFFM/soc.html) and the SLs(http://www.hf.emperorshammer.org/HFFM/positions.html), which should result in regular reports and frequent competitions and medal awards again.  We’re also taking in some new blood:  

• As of this writing, SL/CPL Len Eode is hereby promoted to Commander of Intelligence.  With the AP from his successful tours as SL and WO, that makes him LT Eode.  I’m also waiving the time in rank requirement for his next promotion in the hopes that he’ll quickly join us in a more SOC-worthy rank.

• We’re now taking applications for the SL positions (http://www.hf.emperorshammer.org/HFFM/positions.html) for both Alpha (to replace SGT Liam Stephens) and the Eopies (to replace LT Eode).  Applicants should email me and BG Drachen (rotedrachen19@gmail.com) with your plans for your squad no later than Friday, January 15.  

In other administrative news, we’re awaiting the ok from the Fleet Commander to issue our Commendations of Loyalty, and we’ll be handing out several other awards throughout the week as MSEs and competitions from December work their way through the system.
