Attention Troopers, this is your Prefect speaking:
It’s been a rough few weeks for me, but I’ve now moved back to civilization. As of Sunday I have internet access at home again, but I still don’t have my desktop hooked up for gaming and I’ll be out of town for the next four days for a wedding. Fortunately, it should be relatively smooth sailing after I get back. I’m looking forward to playing some Battlefront on a decent connection. anyway, enough about me.
Medal Updates:
GA Rapier correctly pointed out that the CoL is an EH-wide medal and we will be continuing to support it. However, I am also happy to announce a new, HF-specific medal that we will be issuing on May 5th (Revenge of the Fifth) and October 12th every year: The Honor of the Fist. Congratulations to CPL Jabis Ravenhawk for submitting the winning name.
The ICM requirements and AP values are being tweaked slightly. See Len’s CI report for details when it’s released in a few days.
Unless otherwise specified, CoDs will now be awarded based on competition participation:
1-3 entries: Bronze
4-6 entries: Silver
6+ entries: Gold
The CoD-pss will remain reserved for major, HF-wide competitions.
Promotions:
Zephon, Firmus Kilgore, Junazee, and Len Eode received promotions this month. Jarion Renalds has also met the requirements, and one or two others may join them as I receive and process the MSEs for February.
When we designed the AP system, we set aside a few ranks that would require something special to reach. Ranks reserved for those who made a true and lasting difference to the HF. It’s my honor and pleasure to announce that Wilhelm Drachen has attained one of those ranks, and shall hereafter be addressed as Major General Wilhelm Drachen (or Eddyphotomus). This makes him the only member of the HF equal to myself in rank, which seems appropriate: he was equally involved in the initial efforts to get the HF revived, and he’s been an equal party in almost every decision taken since. He lead us when we were a Battleteam in the Brotherhood, dreaming of glory. He’s also the burning heart of our activity, with an insane 721 WSMs. Seriously, Ed’s got more AP than Vo’s Boys and the Eopies combined. Drachen has be the lynchpin of our TeamSpeak and Telegram activity. He’s the benchmark for what an active member looks like, and he’s been a crucial source of support and inspiration for me since taking on the job of Prefect. Most importantly, since he just attained rank 12 he now owes us 12 rounds of drinks. Congrats! You’ve earned it.
New Competitions:
There’s a new mega-operation in effect for the next four weeks, ending April 5th. This is Operation: Reporting for Duty. The HF is doubling down and building ourselves up to full combat readiness in anticipation of serious combat operations next month. Here’s how the scoring is going to work for RfD:
1 point for every WSM earned from an RfD competition
2 points for every ICM earned from an RfD competition
5 points for every RfD competition entered
10 points for every CoD-bss from an RfD competition
20 points for every CoD-sss from an RfD competition
30 points for every CoD-gss from an RfD competition
As a major, subgroup-wide competition covering all areas of our activity, this competition is eligible for the coveted CoD-pss. Note: screenshots will not count towards a competition if you don’t select that comp when submitting.
The following competitions will be counted as part of RfD:
Live Fire Exercises is a month-long Battlefront competition, consisting of four week-long mini-comps focused on specific game modes:
BF Operation 1: Go Big or Go Home - 40-Man matches
BF Operation 2: The Droids You're Looking For - Droid Run
BF Operation 3: Troopers in Spaaaace - Fighter Squadron
BF Operation 4: Staying Power - Survival
Killing Time is a month-long Pazaak competition, and your first-ever chance to earn WSMs through drunken gambling.
Semper Huh? is your chance to come up with the HF’s new motto. All qualifying submissions will be included in an HF-wide vote.
CPT Len Eode will be announcing the RfD fiction competition in his CI report - the idea was too clever for me to take credit for.
Name, Rank, and Serial Number(http://www.hf.emperorshammer.org/operation.php?id=27) is a competition for the best wiki entry for your HF character.
Additionally, each squad has its own competition: Alpha Mail, Milk This For All It’s Worth, and Vo Forth and Conquer. All three are flash gaming competitions.
While it’s not a part of Reporting for Duty, Operation: Small Scale Approach runs through the 14th.
That's enough talk from me for this report. Signing off,
