Introduction

You have been called to the Commander of Intelligence's office. You haven't seen Captain Eode in quite a while. He has become somewhat of a recluse since the start of the new year, only issuing one somewhat simple mission. Since the threat to Carrida II was ended, it has been mostly quiet. Then out of the blue he has called you to his office, you don your best duty uniform and walk through the mostly completed complex on Carrida II. Turning the corner to the Intelligence Wing you notice the silence. There are no clerks, or other personnel now. Stopping at the door you go to knock when the door swooshes open...

"Welcome," a voice says from within, "Have a seat, we need to talk."

Brews...I mean news. This is a long first news story, there is extremely important stuff below the comp explanation.

1.) As I mentioned in my last report, I am planning a new stretch of fiction. The idea is a comp that involves a team made up of other "volunteers" (aka anyone who wants to participate), write stories with a centralized theme. Fictionally the team would be acting directly under the command of the CI to do some of the dirty work of the HF and the EH as a whole. "So," you ask, "How does this work?" Essentially this competition is a run on ficiton compteition.

Phase Zero

Volunteers are gathered. From the posting of this report, if you want to participate, you have a week to send an email to me asking to be on the team. Please no late joiners, this is so that we can keep the characters consistent.

Phase I

Once we have the volunteers, I will give you a prompt. It will give you a backstory, the prompt for the run on, and what you have avaiable to you. You will have a week (or two) to write a short story. Each one will be graded using the standard HF rubric.

All Subsequent Phases:

The cycle repeats with the winner's fiction will be counted as the version of events that actually happened and all other prompts and responses will stem from that.

Once the story is resolved, we will end the current run on in favor of another story.

2.) Now the more administrative stuff, the Intelligence Commendation Medal is going to be slight tougher to get. After talking with MGN Archenksov, we decided to increase the number of required words from 100 to 200. This is because most people submit more words than we had originally anticipated. Once the current batch of ICMs are processessed, this will take effect

3.) Fictional things: The conflict on Carrida II has calmed down and the New Republic operators captured. Now we prepare to look towards the stars and see what other chaos needs our order.

That's it from me! I hope you all are fired up for this event. I will get to the fictional closure of the offensive operations on Carrida II that will include the fictions written for the First Missions Compeitions. If anyone is interested in participating, please email me ASAP.
